Everly Man Charged With Felony Operating While Intoxicated Following Weekend Traffic Stop

An Everly man was arrested over the weekend on multiple charges after getting pulled over for speeding, including a felony offense for intoxicated driving.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop for excessive speeding at the Highway 71 and Highway 18 north Y intersection in Spencer shortly after 10:30pm on Saturday. The driver, Trever Kuhlman of Everly, admitted to consuming anopen, half-empty bottle of alcohol. The bottle was discovered in the backseat of the vehicle. Kuhlman was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

Kuhlman was arrested on charges of Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, a class D felony…Open Container…and Excessive Speed. He was booked into the Clay County Jail.
