A gallon of unleaded gas at Storm Lake pumps has fallen below three-dollars per gallon in recent days, and the Buena Vista County average is $3.02, according to Triple A Iowa.
The statewide average for a gallon of gas is just under $3.17, which is down two cents in the last week, but is about four cents higher than a month ago.

A year ago at this time, the average price for a gallon of gas in Iowa was more than 70 cents higher than it is now.
Diesel prices have been on a downward trend in Iowa. The current average is $3.85 per gallon, a decline of approximately 14 cents in the last week, and down around 15 cents in the last month. A year ago, diesel in Iowa was averaging over $4.80 per gallon.
