Storm Lake St. Mary’s Among Schools Receiving 2024 Carrie Chapman Catt Award

Storm Lake St. Mary’s is among several schools in the state receiving a 2024 Carrie Chapman Catt Award.

The award is given to schools that register at least 90 percent of eligible students to vote. St. Mary’s has made the list in three of the five years that the award has been given.

A record 43 Iowa schools are getting the Carrie Chapman Catt Award this year, breaking last year’s mark of 31 schools. Each school is invited to host or attend a special award ceremony and trophy presentation with Secretary of State Paul Pate.

The Carrie Chapman Catt Award is named after the Iowan who was a national leader in the women’s suffrage movement.
