Spencer Man Arrested for Failure to Appear in Court on Theft Charge

A Spencer man has been arrested for failure to appear in court on a theft charge.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Matthew Van Maanen was taken into custody shortly after 2pm Tuesday at 3115 West 4th Street in Spencer. He was wanted on an active Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear for a Pretrial Conference on a charge of 2nd Degree Theft.

Van Maanen was booked into the Clay County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond.
