Work is being done today (Thur) to install battery backup units on some of Storm Lake’s traffic signals.
The systems will ensure that traffic lights continue to work, even in the event of a power outage. A City of Storm Lake press release says that during the installation, lights will be out of service for a short time, and four-way stop signs will be placed at the intersection where work is taking place. The city encourages citizens to drive with extra care.
The project is being handled by a crew with General Traffic.
