Suspicious Vehicle Investigation in Laurens Leads to Arrest of Spirit Lake Man

A Spirit Lake man was arrested on multiple drug charges in Laurens this past weekend following a suspicious vehicle investigation.

According to a news release on the Laurens Police Department’s Facebook page, the department was dispatched to the Casey’s General Store in Laurens this past Saturday, October 29th on a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked at the pumps with its hood up. The only occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Jordan Hawn of Spirit Lake, was found asleep in the driver’s seat. Hawn said that his vehicle had died and that he was waiting for a ride. Hawn was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Hawn was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Offense, an aggravated misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Pocahontas County Jail without incident.
