Virtual Drought Meeting Scheduled Next Week

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be hosting a virtual drought meeting next week.

The meeting will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 23rd. To view the virtual meeting or to get more information, go to the ISU Extension website. Preregistration isn’t required. The meeting is expected to last about 90 minutes.

Multiple speakers are scheduled. Topics will include drought impacts on crops and forages, how to manage livestock and drought-stressed forages, preparing for use of alternative forages, and crop insurance and marketing decisions.

67 counties statewide are currently in some form of drought, including most of northwest Iowa.
