Two Charged For Allegedly Assaulting Victim in Storm Lake Roadway

Two individuals were arrested following a reported fight in a Storm Lake roadway.

According to Storm Lake Police, the department was called to the one-thousand block of East 4th Street at around 4:40pm Tuesday. A male victim was reportedly suffering from facial area injuries. The victim told police that he’d been assaulted by two male suspects, who had fled the scene in a vehicle before the arrival of officers.

The suspects were identified as 51-year-old Raul Diaz Bacallao and 24-year-old Alex Diaz Martinez, both of Storm Lake. Following an investigation, police allege Diaz Bacallao and Diaz Martinez confronted the victim while seated in their vehicle in the area where the fight occurred. Diaz Bacalloa allegedly reached into the victim’s vehicle and began striking the victim in the face. The victim was then reportedly pulled out of the vehicle and was further assaulted by both suspects.

The suspects were located shortly after the incident in the 11-hundred block of Spooner Street. Diaz Bacallao was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, a class B felony…and Disorderly Conduct, a simple misdemeanor. Diaz Bacallao was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a 25-thousand 300-dollar bond. Diaz Martinez was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor. Diaz Martinez was booked into the BV County Jail on a one-thousand dollar bond.
