Two Arrested for Allegedly Stealing from Storm Lake Stores

Two individuals were arrested this week in connection to a series of thefts in Storm Lake that began in January.

According to Storm Lake Police, the thefts began back on January 22nd when the department received reports of a group of shoplifting suspects who committed thefts at the local Hy-Vee, Dollar General, and Wal-Mart stores. The suspects allegedly loaded shopping carts with merchandise and left the premises without paying for the items.

On Tuesday of this week, Storm Lake Police received a report of a group of suspects who returned to the Walmart store and allegedly stole more property. Officials say they recorded the physical descriptions of the suspects and gave them to nearby police. The suspects allegedly stole an unspecified amount of alcohol from the store. Following a traffic stop, authorities on Tuesday were able to locate a vehicle belonging to an individual who matched the description of two of the suspects.

According to authorities, 32-year-old Sacora Harper and 36-year-old Diana Beamon of Chicago, Illinois, were arrested after a search warrant was executed regarding a vehicle believed to be connected to the alleged suspect.

Police also conducted a consent search of a Storm Lake apartment where they have recovered property believed to be stolen. Harper and Beamon have both been charged with 3rd Degree Theft, an aggravated misdemeanor…and three counts of 5th Degree Theft, a simple misdemeanor.

The Storm Lake Police Department is still trying to identify two of the suspects in the case. Contact the Storm Lake Police Department if you have any information.
