Truck Accidentally Spills Wet Cement on Highway 71 South of Spencer

Some traffic disruptions are being reported on a stretch of Highway 71 between 460th Street and 480th Street in Clay county, south of Spencer.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a cement truck accidentally lost some of it’s load late this (Wed) morning. Both lanes of the highway were reportedly covered in wet cement for about three quarters of-a-mile.

Motorists were being told to stay out of that area as crews work to clean up the mess. The road was re-opened to traffic a little after 12:30 pm.

There was reportedly at least one vehicle that was damaged while traveling through the wet cement.
