Buena Vista County Auditor Sue Lloyd reminds county residents about some important dates and other information pertaining to the upcoming Primary Election.
Primary absentee voting begins on Wednesday, May 15th in the BV Auditor’s Office at 317 East 5th Street in Storm Lake during regular business hours from 8am until 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The last day that absentee ballots may be requested to be mailed is Monday, May 20th at 5pm.
The last day to vote absentee in-person is Monday, June 3rd at 4:30pm.
The BV Auditor’s Office will be open on Saturday, June 1st for absentee voting from 8am to 4:30pm.
Voters may check the status of their absentee ballots by contacting the BV Auditor’s Office at 712-749-2542 or on the Iowa Secretary of State website. Any voter who is physically unable to enter the BV Auditor’s Office has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. Contact the BV Auditor’s Office for more information.
The Primary Election will be held on June 4th.
