A Storm Lake woman was arrested Wednesday after being accused of assaulting her child.
The Storm Lake Police Department was called to the 700 block of West 8th Street around 10:30pm Wednesday. A juvenile male told police that he had been struck in the face by his mother at a residence in that area of West 8th Street.
Following an investigation, 37-year-old Misty Wood was taken into custody. She was charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury, a class D felony. Wood was booked in the Buena Vista County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond.
The juvenile sustained minor injuries which did not require medical treatment. He was released to a family member. The incident was referred to the Iowa Department of Human Services.
