Storm Lake will be hosting a Tree Planting Event next week. The gathering will take place on Wednesday, September 27th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at West 10 Street Park (across from the Field of Dreams).
Storm Lake was selected for a $4,000 grant from the Alliant Energy Community Tree Program earlier this year, which is a part of the “One Million Trees” Initiative. Twenty (20) trees will be planted as the city aims to maintain the tree canopy for the community.
Alliant Energy has so far planted 458,000 trees and hopes to fund the planting of one million trees in both Iowa and Wisconsin by the end of 2030. Learn more at www.alliantenergy.com/communitysupportandsafety/communityprograms/onemilliontrees.
