Storm Lake Superintendent Talks Graduation/Dropout Rates

At Wednesday’s school board meeting, Storm Lake Superintendent Stacey Cole commented on the district’s high school graduation and dropout rates.

Cole said as has become typical, Storm Lake’s four-year graduation rate for 2024 of 54 percent is lower when compared to the state. Cole said that number isn’t too surprising since about half of their students from that group have been in the district’s five-year charter school.

Cole said the five-year rate for 2024 is lower than what they’d like to see at 75 percent…

Cole said there’s been discussion about adding a dashboard to the district’s website that would promote certain statistics including the number of students taking college credits, as well as honors diploma, and grade point average.
