Storm Lake School Board Recognizes Cole for Superintendent of the Year Award

Stacey Cole was recognized at Wednesday’s Storm Lake School Board meeting for being selected this week as the Iowa Superintendent of the Year.

Board President Dave Skibsted said Cole could’ve won this award every year she’s been here, and said she’s put the Storm Lake school district on the map…

Skibsted highlighted the work Cole has done with bond issues pertaining to the Early Elementary School, dealing with the pandemic, and involving the community with those and other projects.

Skibsted also pointed out the district’s improved cooperation with Buena Vista University and Iowa Central Community College…

Skibsted credited Cole with helping to build the district’s diversity…

Cole thanked the school board members and district administrators…

The Superintendent of the Year award is given by the School Administrators of Iowa Association. Cole will be honored as part of the SAI’s annual conference next summer. She has been the superintendent in Storm Lake since 2018.
