Storm Lake RAGBRAI to Support Local Nonprofits

The Storm Lake RAGBRAI committee is introducing two volunteer-driven fundraising opportunities for the local nonprofit of choice of local nonprofits and businesses.

Local nonprofits that volunteer for local events on July 22nd and 23rd will now receive funding based on their hours contributed during RAGBRAI’s first overnight stop of the week-long journey across the state. Organizations must complete a registration form prior to the event and turn in documentation of hours worked following July 23rd.

Area businesses may also give back to the community by participating in the new “RAGBRAI Gives Back” program on July 22nd and 23rd. By signing up employees to volunteer, businesses may select a local nonprofit of choice to receive a cash donation from RAGBRAI based on the number of hours contributed.

Local nonprofits interested in raising funds through volunteering, and businesses looking to make a positive impact on the community through “RAGBRAI Gives Back” may contact the Storm Lake committee at ragbraistormlake@gmail.com to sign up.

Storm Lake will be the first overnight stop for this year’s bike ride on Sunday, July 23rd. Over 30-thousand riders, support teams, and visitors are expected. There are several volunteer opportunities available. If interested, email ragbraistormlake@gmail.com.
