A Storm Lake man with previous assault convictions was arrested on an assault charge this past weekend.
Members of the Storm Lake Police Department responded to an alleged domestic disturbance at the residence in the 800 block of Oneida Street at approximately 4am Sunday. Police were advised that 41-year-old Swey Htike assaulted a female within the residence by striking her in the face.
Htike was taken into custody without incident. He was found to have two previous convictions for domestic assault in Buena Vista County.
Htike was charged with 3rd Offense Domestic Abuse Assault, a class D felony. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond.
