A Storm Lake man died in a rollover crash last week in Humboldt County.
The Iowa State Patrol says 83‑year‑old Paul Bengtson was driving a 2020 Ford Edge eastbound on Highway 3, about four miles east of Humboldt, shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Investigators say the SUV crossed the center line, Bengtson overcorrected, and the vehicle entered the ditch, rolling several times.
The crash temporarily shut down Highway 3 between Quebec and Roosevelt avenues, with alternating traffic allowed later in the afternoon as investigators worked.
Emergency crews from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
