A Storm Lake man has been arrested on a forgery charge.
According to Storm Lake Police, the department received a report this past Friday regarding stolen checks that were fraudulently cashed in Storm Lake. Following an investigation, police allege that 26-year-old Fabian Carrasco Urquiola had taken checks from the victim without permission, forged signatures, and cashed one of the checks at a Storm Lake business which resulted in a loss of 840 dollars.
Carrasco Urquiola was taken into custody on Monday. He was charged with one count of Forgery, a class D felony. Carrasco Urquiola was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a five-thousand dollar bond.
The case remains under investigation, and additional charges are possible.
