Immigrant Experience Film Series Coming to Storm Lake Public Library

An immigrant experience film series at the Storm Lake Public Library gets underway this week.

The series consists of three movies featuring three different immigrant stories. The first film will be shown tomorrow (Thur) at 4pm. It’s about a young Irish woman in the early 1950’s torn between her old home and her new home.

The next film in the series is about a lonely widower who forms unlikely friendships with two young immigrants. It’ll be shown next Thursday, October 26th at 4pm.

The final film in the series will be presented on Thursday, November 2nd at 4pm. The film is about the true story of a Cambodian refugee who built a multi-million dollar empire baking America’s favorite pastry.

The series is best suited for adult audiences. Light snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Storm Lake Library.
