Storm Lake Among Distribution Locations for Discounted Trees Program

A few different kinds of trees are being offered to some residents statewide, and Storm Lake is one of the distribution spots.

A mixture of hardwoods, low-growing ornamental, and evergreen tree species are being offered to the public for 25 dollars each through a partnership between the Iowa DNR and Alliant Energy. Customers of Alliant can purchase up to two trees which can be picked up at five locations around the state. Local distribution will be offered at the Awaysis Park in Storm Lake from 4:30 to 6:30pm on Thursday, April 25th.

Trees available include Ohio Buckeye, Swamp White Oak, English Oak, American Linden, and Eastern White Pine. Customers can purchase no more than two trees per private property. If multiple properties are owned by a single individual, two trees can be purchased per property. Each unique address must be listed on the order form. Customers are asked to bring their confirmation email showing species and locations purchased at the distribution event.

Reserve your trees by submitting an order form on the Iowa DNR website.
