State Auditor Releases Report on Ida County

State Auditor Rob Sand on Thursday released an audit report on Ida County.

According to the report, Ida County’s revenues for the year ended June 30th, 2023 totaled approximately 12.5 million dollars, an increase of less than one percent from the prior year. Expenses for county operations totaled about 10.3 million dollars, an increase of 15.5 percent over the prior year. The significant increase in expenses is primarily due to higher costs associated with road maintenance and equipment operations during fiscal year 2023.

Sand reported two findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds which address a lack of segregation of duties, and material audit adjustments due to a lack of maintaining current infrastructure records. Sand provided Ida County with recommendations to address each of the findings.
