Spirit Lake Woman Receives Multiple Charges Following Rollover Accident in Clay County

A Spirit Lake woman escaped uninjured and received several charges following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Clay County late last week.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place around 7:30pm this past Friday in the 31-hundred mile of Highway 71. Following an investigation, it was determined that 42-year-old Jolynn Pullen was driving southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed. Pullen lost control of her vehicle, which rolled over and came to rest on the passenger side.

Pullen initially fled the scene, but was located by the Spencer Police Department. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at ten-thousand dollars, which is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.

Pullen was arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and received charges including OWI 1st Offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance, both serious misdemeanors…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain a Controlled Substance, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Careless Driving, all simple misdemeanors.

Pullen was booked into the Clay County Jail.
