A Spencer man was arrested early Wednesday evening on multiple charges after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding a suspicious individual and vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrived in the area of the 23 hundred mile of 330th Street. Upon arrival, authorities made contact with 48-year-old Steven Marvin of Spencer. Marvin is currently barred from driving in Iowa. Marvin initially denied that he was driving the vehicle, a 1998 Ford Expedition, but it was later determined that he was driving the vehicle. As Marvin was being arrested, a pipe was located in his pocket. The vehicle was impounded, and methamphetamine was discovered during a probable cause search.
Marvin was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a class D felony…as well as Driving While Barred, Driving With a Suspended License, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fraudulent Use of Registration, and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
Marvin was booked into the Clay County Jail and held without bond.
