Sioux Central FFA Team Visits Iowa Department of Agriculture

The Sioux Central School District’s FFA Ag Issues Team on Thursday visited the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship in Des Moines.

According to a news release, team members gave a presentation on foreign ownership of farmland to Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and other Department staff. A bill to strengthen that law will soon be signed by Governor Reynolds, and Naig was highly engaged in the legislative effort. Naig asked the students questions on the topic, and they were well prepared according to the news release.

Sioux Central students will be among many competing at the annual Iowa FFA Conference in Ames April 14th through the 16th.
