The recent snow and rains have helped push back some of the drought conditions in the state.

According to the latest Iowa Drought Monitor, there are no drought conditions in portions of northwest Iowa, including most of Cherokee and O’Brien counties, and parts of Clay and Ida. All of Buena Vista County, and most of the rest of northwest Iowa, is abnormally dry. The eastern side of the state has the most severe drought conditions.

The Drought Monitor shows the areas of the state not reporting any drought have gone from just more than two percent to now close to ten percent.
