Red Flag Warning Will be in Effect Later Today

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Buena Vista and area counties today (Sat) from noon to 7pm.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Southwest wind is expected to be between 15 and 25 miles-per-hour, with gusts up to 35 miles-per-hour. Relative humidity will get as low as 20 percent. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
