The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning today (Mon) for northwest Iowa counties, including Buena Vista, from 1pm to 7pm.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
The wind out of the southwest will gust up to 30 miles-per-hour. Relative humidity will fall as low as 12-percent. Any fires that develop will likely spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
