The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office, Newell Police Department and Sioux Rapids Police Department in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Agency will hold a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday. From 11 to 1, the public can bring potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for free, anonymous, safe disposal. Locations include:
The Walmart parking lot, 1831 North Lake Avenue in Storm Lake
Sioux Rapids City Hall, 100 Front Street in Sioux Rapids
Newell City Hall, 207 East 2nd Street in Newell
Vapes with batteries, inhalers, liquids, needles or sharps will NOT be accepted. If you are unable to drop off medications this Saturday, they may be dropped off this week in the front lobby of the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office at 411 Expansion Boulevard in Storm Lake during normal business hours, between 8 am and 4:30 pm.
