An informational meeting will be held for Sioux Rapids area residents next month regarding a fiber internet project.
Evertek is building the network to provide ultra-fast internet to Sioux Rapids residents. Evertek assistant general manager Chris Dodd says it will be a two-phase project, which will start in the city-limits, and then expand to rural areas…(audio clip below :29 )
The come-and-go meeting will be on Wednesday, July 13th from 5 to 7pm at the American Legion Hall in Sioux Rapids. Dodd says construction is expected to get underway on Monday, July 18th.

Those who stop by will have a chance to win several door prizes. A drawing will be held for several large coolers for those that attend and complete a “permission to bury” form.
Evertek announced the Sioux Rapids fiber project this past December. The company received an Iowa Broadband grant for the project earlier this year.
