Storm Lake City Council member Meg McKeon was appointed to serve on the Lake Improvement Commission at Monday’s council meeting.
Former council member Tyson Rice previously served on the commission, and McKeon volunteered to fill that spot. Mayor Mike Porsch also serves on the commission, which includes a total of seven members. Porsch said there currently isn’t much activity on the Lake Improvement Commission. The LIC was heavily involved when dredging was taking place in Storm Lake.
The Lake Improvement Commission meets on the last Monday of every month, although they don’t always meet on a monthly basis. The LIC previously met in December and approved the vegetation management plan for Storm Lake.
