New Chief Juvenile Court Officer Has Started Duties for Local Judicial Branch District

A new Chief Juvenile Court Officer has started in District Three of the Iowa Judicial Branch.

David Schmiedt began his new duties on March 31st. Schmiedt has over 23 years of experience in Juvenile Court Services. He was appointed by Chief Judge Patrick Tott. The 3rd district of the Iowa Judicial Branch includes Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Ida, O’Brien, and Palo Alto counties.

The Chief Juvenile Court Officer collaborates with law enforcement to provide a coordinated response to juvenile crime, and oversees programming and services for at-risk youth.
