A Peterson man received minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 2:45pm Wednesday. 73-year-old William Safley was driving an SUV westbound in the 18-hundred mile of 440th Street. The vehicle went airborne after it entered the north ditch and struck a field approach. The vehicle overturned onto its side and struck a cattle yard fence.
Safley was removed from the vehicle by first responders on scene. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Peterson and Royal First Responders, Spencer Ambulance, and Bud’s Tow Service.
