A Manson man who was involved in an accident on Highway 7 yesterday (Wed) afternoon in Fort Dodge has died.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Paul Gardner says troopers discovered a Ford Expedition had been going eastbound on Highway 7. The vehicle lost control and collided head-on with a westbound semi.
The driver of the SUV, Mark Rader of Manson, died after being taken to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday night. According to Gardner, the accident was a result of icy roads, although it is still under investigation.
The driver of the semi was uninjured in the accident. Authorities were on the accident scene for several hours, and the road had to be blocked off to traffic.
