The City of Storm Lake is launching an infrastructure project to replace the aging lift station near College Avenue and West 3rd Street.
Construction is scheduled to begin around June 2nd, and will continue through April 2026. A news release from the city states that the upgrade is a key part of an ongoing effort to maintain reliable public services and protect long-term infrastructure. * Reduce maintenance costs
* Minimize odor in the area
To ensure public safety and keep the project on schedule, temporary road closures in the immediate area will be in place during construction. It is anticipate that a road closure in the area of the College & 3rd intersection (including the area between the BVU east parking lots will be necessary from early in the construction process until approximately July 11th.
