Iowa Seeing Improvement in Drought Levels

While drought conditions in northwest Iowa are basically unchanged, the situation is looking better statewide.

The latest Iowa Drought Monitor map shows the amount of Iowa in at least Moderate Drought is down around 16 percent to just over 56 percent. Nearly 21 percent of the state has no drought conditions compared to 14 percent the previous week.

Just about all of northwest Iowa is still in Moderate Drought, and parts of Sioux and Woodbury counties continue to show Severe Drought. A tiny portion of Calhoun County is now only Abnormally Dry.
