A public comment period is now open on Iowa’s 2024 impaired waters report.
The Department of Natural Resources report, required by the Clean Water Act, lists over 700 segments of lakes, rivers, and streams that don’t meet water quality standards, which includes Storm Lake. Of the 14 hundred samples taken, approximately one-third of them, 387, are ranked healthy.
