Ida County Supervisors Make Decision on Color Change to Courthouse Exterior

The Ida County Board of Supervisors has decided on the proposed repainting of the exterior of the courthouse in Ida Grove.

The board met this (Fri) morning and opted to repaint the outside of the courthouse with a brown/red color called “tea.”

Some citizens have voiced their opposition to the county’s plans to repaint the exterior as part of courthouse renovation efforts. Over 160 people signed a petition to keep the color red, which it has been since the 1940’s. The board previously planned to have the exterior painted tan.
