Charges have been filed in connection to gunshots that were reportedly fired in Fonda last weekend.
According to the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, 68-year-old Dennis Kelly of Fonda has been charged with Reckless Use of a Firearm and Disorderly Conduct, both simple misdemeanors.
Shortly before 10pm this past Sunday, the sheriff’s office was informed that shots had been fired in the area of Franklin and 5th Streets in Fonda. The caller also stated that they could hear a female yelling for help. Responding deputies determined that the gunshots came from the 400 block of Franklin Street.
No injuries were reported from the incident. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.
