The headline band has been announced for this year’s Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular.
The Pork Tornadoes will perform on Monday, July 3rd from 7 to 9:30pm at the Sunset Park Band Shell. The band has been named one of Iowa’s most versatile groups, as they put their own spin on an eclectic mix of songs from artists including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Lizzo, The Killers, Coolio, and Phil Collins. They play popular songs from five different decades, and cover four different genres for all ages and musical preferences. The Pork Tornadoes debut EP peaked at #20 on the Apple iTunes Pop chart, and was streamed more than half a million times in 2020.
2023 Star Spangled Spectacular commodores Jared and Ty Eggers booked the Pork Tornadoes after Storm Lake United Interim Executive Director Fletcher Kucera recommended them after watching their performance at the RAGBRAI Des Moines route announcement party in January.
The Fishheads will back to perform during the Spectacular on Tuesday, July 4th from 12:30 to 3pm in the Band Shell.
