The City of Storm Lake will be conducting a Global Positioning System logging of park features such as benches and picnic tables over the next few weeks. Volunteer Joseph Rice from Storm Lake High School will be conducting the survey. A side-by-side utility vehicle will be used for the work. The information collected will help update the City’s Geographic Information mapping. The City of Storm Lake maintains approximately 200 park benches and 150 picnic tables, many of which feature memorial markers. The mapping will assist in ensuring that park furnishings and markers can be kept in the best possible condition.
