The Storm Lake City Council today (Mon) approved six-thousand dollars in one-time funding from the City for this year’s Star Spangled Spectacular.
The request for extra funding was made at the council meeting earlier this month, as the leaders of the event are planning a bigger and better celebration this year to coincide with Storm Lake’s sesquicentennial. The money will be used for an upgraded fireworks display, face painting, fire juggling, stilt walking, and a City-inspired painting. The funds will come from the City’s general fund Elevate Storm Lake allocation.
