Dangerous Fire Weather Conditions Will Exist Again Today

Due to continued low relative humidity and strong wind activity, the National Weather Service has again issued a Red Flag Warning this (Wed) afternoon and evening for Buena Vista and all surrounding counties.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. Any fires that develop in the affected counties during the afternoon and evening hours will likely spread quickly. Outdoor burning is NOT recommended. The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the Extreme Category this (Wed) afternoon.

A Red Flag Warning has now been issued locally four of the last six days. Similar weather conditions are forecast for tomorrow (Thur), as a Fire Weather Watch is in effect for area counties on Thursday.
