Cherokee Man Pleads Guilty in Federal Court to Possession of Child Pornography

A Cherokee man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday in Sioux City Federal Court to Possession of Child Pornography.

At the plea hearing, 33-year-old Lance White admitted to receiving and possessing child pornography. Law enforcement determined that White had possessed and viewed several graphic videos depicting child porn after receiving a CyberTip regarding his Gmail account. The internet activity was traced to White’s Cherokee address. Forensic analysis of several electronic devices revealed dozens of videos and images of child pornography, as well as several AI or cartoon photographs and videos of child porn. The materials involved prepubescent minors, and portrayed sadistic, masochistic conduct, or other depictions of violence.

White also faces a 250 thousand dollar fine, and at least five years of supervised release following any imprisonment. Sentencing will be set after a presentence report is prepared. White remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending sentencing.

The case was investigated in part by the Cherokee Police Department.
