BVU Commencement Speakers Announced

Buena Vista University has announced that Dr. Rahn Franklin Jr will deliver the commencement address for BVU’s graduate program ceremony this coming Saturday, May 4th at 11am in Siebens Fieldhouse.

Franklin is a Kansas City native who graduated from BVU in 2008. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sports and fitness management and his master’s in school counseling from BVU. Franklin went on to complete his Ph.D at Northcentral University in the School of Education, specializing in organizational leadership. Franklin is currently the Vice President of Inclusive Excellence at Bethel University.

The graduate commencement ceremony next Saturday is one of two that will be held on the BVU campus that day. BVU’s undergraduate commencement ceremony will be held that day at 2pm, also in Siebens Fieldhouse. Jeff Anderson, a BVU graduate in 2003, will serve as the keynote speaker for that celebration. BVU’s baccalaureate ceremony begins Saturday at 9am in the Schaller Chapel, and will be directed by Dr. Melanie Hauser, University Chaplain and Associate Professor of Chemistry.
