Be on the Lookout for Hazardous Weather Today

UPDATE 11:10am

The Nationa Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for northwest Iowa the rest of today and tonight.  

Scattered thunderstorms will push across the area through mid
morning. An isolated storm could become severe with hail to the size
of quarters and winds gusts to 60 mph.

Additional thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and
evening, with the greatest risk between 3 pm and 8 pm. These storms would
likely become severe east of Interstate 29, with large hail, damaging
winds, and isolated tornadoes all possible.

For the Storm Lake area...

Today
A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Windy, with a south southwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
Tonight
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 1am. Some of the storms could be severe. Partly cloudy, with a low around 41. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 20 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
