Some familiar events are set to kickoff the Storm Lake Star Spangled Spectacular.
The Classic Car Cruise and poker run are set to begin the Independence Day celebration at 4:45pm on Monday, July 3rd. Classic cars, sports cars, motorcycles, and other eye-catching motorized vehicles are encouraged to participate. Attendees will begin assembling for the cruise at 4pm on July 3rd at the Prairie Lakes AEA Building, with the cruise starting at 4:45. No sign-up or registration is required.
The route is the same as previous years, with the exception of an extension onto Chautauqua Park Drive. Those who live along the route may view the car parade, and others may take in the presentation as they park at Sunset Park for the 6pm Classic Car Show.
Several other events will be held on Monday in Sunset Park, including music by The Pork Tornadoes in the bandshell. Events on the 4th of July include the Ride-Run, Big Parade, music by The Fishheads, and fireworks at dusk.
