A Dozen Flags Dedicated at Parade of Flags Event in Storm Lake

Twelve flags were dedicated as part of the 52nd anniversary of the Storm Lake Parade of Flags Memorial Day Ceremony.

Retired U.S. Army Reserves member Jerry Weiland was the guest speaker…

Weiland spoke of a cemetery in the Netherlands with over 83 hundred American graves that have been adopted by local families. He said there’s currently a waiting listed of 300 families waiting to adopt an American grave…

Weiland is a Spencer native, who currently resides in Aurelia. He is the Buena Vista County Veterans Service Officer.
