A Northwest Iowa four-vehicle crash led to multiple injuries and one individual deceased. According to the Iowa State Patrol, three vehicles were stopped on U.S. HWY 30 near Scranton, due to construction, when a Toyota Prius approached from behind, failing to stop. The accident occurred on Monday at around 5:30 pm on HWY 30 and Forest Avenue.
The Prius rear-ended the third vehicle in line, causing a chain reaction of hitting the second vehicle, which then collided with the front vehicle. The driver of the Toyota Prius was 30-year-old Amy Marie Yager, of Coon Rapids. Yager was injured in the crash.
The driver of one of the vehicles that was stopped was Donald Haberl, 88, of Carroll. He was also injured and his passenger, 84-year-old, Mary Ann Haberl died due to her injuries in the crash. At this time, no other injuries have been reported and the investigation remains ongoing.
