Jake Eddie tossed a one-hitter and the Storm Lake baseball team beat Denison-Schleswig 14-0 in five innings Friday night in Storm Lake.
Eddie (now 4-2) struck out six and gave up no walks and threw 61 pitches. The Tornadoes scored one run in the first inning, two in the 2nd and two more in the 3rd before exploding for nine runs in the 4th inning.
Carson Lullmann led an eight hit attack going 2-for-4 with 4RBI, Charlie Dvergsten had two hits and 2RBI. Jake White, Aiden Phillips, and Eddie all had two RBI’s.
Denison-Schleswig’s only hit was a two-out single by Ty Fink in the 3rd inning. The Monarchs finish the year 7-25.
Storm Lake is now 20-9 and will host Harlan Monday night in a 3A district final that starts at 7pm. Click below to hear comments from head coach Michael Knapp.
